The major pages are listed below and some interesting facts have been included about them. How?

Front Page

The front page is the opening of the 1st District Southern Region Web Site. It has links to other areas of the web site for both public and member users. At the bottom is the number of visitors the site has had to date, the date that the site was last updated and the names and e-mail addresses (along with general areas of responsibility) of the current Webmasters. Also found there is the disclaimer that is required by regulations.

What's New Page

All items come to the What's New page unless specifically requested to be placed elsewhere. This is the page that most users look at first. It gives them an up to date glimpse of what is going on around the 1st Southern Region across all areas of responsibility. Items stay on this page for a short time (usually around 30 days). They are then put on the "What's Not So New" page or into one of the Staff Officer's or Division Captain's pages. The link to Coastie's page is at the top of the "What's New" page.

District Commodores

This page shows the pictures, names and titles of the current Executive Committee. Clicking on their name will bring up a communication box that has their e-mail address already filled in. At the bottom are links to the District Staff and the Division Captains.

District Staff & Division Captains Pages

The District Staff Officer and Division Captain pages have several features. The officers are pictured with their name, position and department or division. Clicking on their name will bring up a communication box with their e-mail address already filled in. Clicking on the department or division will link you to the space that is specific to their area of responsibility, where the officer will post items of interest. This is also the area that items go to when they leave the What's New page if they apply solely to a specific department or division. Items remain here until they are requested to be removed or are completely obsolete.

This page is the 1SR Schedule of Upcoming District or Special Events. Events are usually included both here and on the What's New Page. The event information stays here until the event has passed and then it is removed from the schedule.

This page has links to the National Web Site Flotilla Finder and the CME pages. It also has a link to our own page for PE classes that are scheduled in 1SR. This list is updated frequently. Additional links on this page go to any special projects that may be approaching such as National Safe Boating Week.

This is the page that has links to the Help Wanted page and Photo Album page as well as a link to the District Staff pages. It also has a link to the On Line AUXMAN. This page is scheduled for overhaul in the near future.

These are links to the web pages within 1st Southern that the District Webmasters knew about (flotillas and divisions) along with some that the District Webmasters thought might be helpful. The District Web Site only links to these sites and does not control content or function of them. In the case of commercial web sites, the link is for the convenience of the member and should not be construed as an endorsement.

How?

Items that are placed on the 1st Southern Web Site are sent to the District Webmaster or Assistant Webmasters by e-mail or US Postal Service. This is done to eliminate any mis-communication. The District Officer (or Division Captain) whose area of responsibility the item falls under should be the person that submits the item. If that is not so, the Webmasters will check with that Officer to confirm accuracy and approval. As the Webmasters prepare the item for inclusion, any questions will be directed back to the responsible officer. A note is placed at the end of each item which denotes the source of the item [Source: ]. Since the item is viewable by the general public and members worldwide, the Webmasters strive to be as accurate as possible in the postings. Any questions regarding this procedure should be directed to the Webmaster.
