Fresh
from her Yard Availability period, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Lady B. 823258
resumed her post in the Arthur Kill and Newark Bay. Steadfastly standing watch
over this target rich enviroment of fuel, power and container facilities that
are vital to the Economy of the New York area. The first task ar hand for Captain
Sutherland and his crew was the removal of a 20 foot long timber that was a hazard
to navigation. Also encountered were various Aids to Navigation that were ice
encrusted. ATONs that were in danger of sinking were reported in to ACTNY. Altough
it was Polar Bear weather, the Hardy crew: Alan Yuen, Gary Rech, Tom Pinelli,
Colleen Pinelli, Steve Masterson, Fred DeLisi, Mike Pienta, and Sharon Fox along
with the Skipper, Stew Sutherland endured the Patrol with a hearty Chili lunch
and cheesecake for dessert. |
