Como-elect Charles Sferra and Vice Como-elect Thomas Venezio accept Proclamation naming Saturday December 4, as Coast Guard Auxiliary Day in CT. The Proclamation was signed by the Governor of CT. National Area Commodore Nicholas Kerigan, Como-elect Charles Sferra, and Vice Como-elect Thomas Venezio give opening comments at the Leadership Conference. Wes Doody, John Molfetta, and Gene Popik were 3 of the instructors for the Leadership Conference.

The Leadership Academy for returning or newly elected leaders was held at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. on December 3,4 and 5. We were blessed with great weather and a great training staff. We had 3 intensive hard working days of training and fellowship. The instructors challenged us, and presented us with ideas that we could immediately take back to our areas and begin implementing. Anywhere you went that weekend, you could feel the positive energy. Commander Felker and the CWO Mark Ferreira were present throughout the weekend, supporting us in every way. National Area Commodore Nicholas Kerigan , Como-elect Sferra, and Vice Como-elect Thomas Venezio arranged the sessions and all the logistics that go along with making such a training event a success. Our thanks go out to all the great folks in 1SR for another wonderful Leadership Training session. Special thanks to all the elected leaders who gave up valuable time with their families to come and learn. Your dedication and professionalism is evident. Congratulations, and best wishes for a productive year.
