After the attack, Lower Manhattan was closed. The only way to bring rescue workers to Ground Zero was by boat. Coast Guard and New York City Police were out with their boats and they brought Fire Fighters, Police Officers, EMT's and Iron Workers to the North Cove Marina which is near the staging area of Ground Zero.
On 13 September, Auxiliary Facility 323047 got instructions from the Coast Guard, to go to Pier 25, which is near 14th Street, and pick up Rescue Workers. The images below show scenes from that day.
