16 September2001,   Station Fire Island

A small army of Auxiliarists descended on Station Fire  Island to augment the effortsof the USCG regulars and reservists. Lines denoting gold and silver side all but evaporated and the only difference became the small arms and bulletproof vests of the regulars. From carrying out tasks ranging from station perimeter security patrols to preparation of meals for all personnel, the members of Division 1 responded to thecall to be part of Team Coast Guard and serve their country.
