Division 11 based in Brooklyn attends both Fleet Week 2004 and the Blue Angels flight demonstration at Jones Beach while on the Lady B.
Several members of Division 11 attended the Fleet Week Ships both Navy and Coast Guard docked by the Intrepid to serve as Public Affairs auxiliary with Gail and Tom Venezio. Our members were Joe Stern DCP-11, Tom Matonti VCP-11, Sal Baglieri, Donald Palmieri, and Charlie Dimitriades. We assisted the public with Coastie patrol watch, and also served on the CG 615 Reliance cutter by assisting with the tour groups and giving out booklets and information on the vessel. The Division 11 Crew members on Stu Sutherland’s Lady B are Manny Padilla, Tom Matonti, Charlie Dimitriades, Steve Haney and Jay Gellman. They served as crew on the Lady B the center boat for the Blue Angels off Jones Beach. The Blue Angles employ 6 planes with numbers 1,2,3 and 4 in a diamond formation while 5 and 6 are the solo. They fly the Boeing/Grumman F-18 Hornet.
